Counsellor Profile

There are times in our lives when we feel 'stuck' and don't know what to do to make changes, or may have experienced a trauma or loss. Feeling a lack of energy and motivation or low self esteem. You may have a string of failed relationships and want to make changes to the same old patterns. Together we would explore your background and learned patterns of behaviour and then work out what changes are needed to move forward in a positive way.

I have worked as a counsellor for over 10 Years with individual adults and children. I am accredited with the BACP and adhere to their ethical framework requirements. All my work is confidential except in areas where someone discloses harm from another person or harm to themselves. As well as my private practice I work in primary care as a practice counsellor and have experience of working in schools with children and young people. I practice as an integrative Counsellor but particularly enjoy using Transactional Analysis and creative methods. I have regular child protection training and have CRB clearance.

I trained at the Northern Guild for Psychotherapy and have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am an accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and adhere to their Ethical Frame for Good Practice. Further training undertaken is Working with Young People through Relate for the Relate-teen Service. Other training includes trauma and critical incident debriefing, sexual identity, creative techniques, self harm and survivors of childhood abuse.

My fees are £40.00 - £50.00.
Sessions are 40 - 45 minutes for children and 50 minutes for adults.
I am available for work during the day, evenings and Saturday mornings.
