About me

From my private practice in London, WC1H and remotely by phone or video call I offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), incorporating mindfulness and compassion focused approaches; Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT); Sensorimotor Psychotherapy; and Psychodynamic Counselling. I usually work integratively across these therapy models to maximise therapeutic outcomes for my clients. Presenting difficulties I work with include depression, anxiety, phobias and panic attacks, difficulty with assertiveness or anger, procrastination, low self esteem, confidence problems, relationship issues, shyness, isolation, obsessions and compulsions, prolonged grief symptoms, sleep problems, coping with illness, eating disorders, and stress. I help clients understand the root cause of their difficulties as well as supporting them towards better mental health.

The first meeting is an assessment in order for me to understand what is causing concern and whether I can be of help, and for the client to get a sense of whether they want to work with me. If we decide to go ahead, we would then agree whether to do a time-limited piece of work e.g. 6 to 20 sessions or to meet on an open ended basis. The frequency of sessions would also be agreed e.g. weekly, fortnightly or ad hoc, as well as the fees. A limited number of concessional sessions are available.

I am a registered accredited member of the BACP and a member of the BABCP and abide by their codes of ethics.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
