Welcome to I Am Counselling Services providing professional, friendly and effective mental health assessment, counselling and talking therapy out-of-hours. Private consultation is by appointment only.
1 in 4 people will experience some kind of mental health problem in the course of a year. Dr Iqbal has successfully helped and treated many people in Luton, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and London as a Psychiatrist and Human Givens Counsellor. His clients have requested help and support for a wide variety of mental health problems differing in degree and nature.
The Human Givens (HG) approach offers amazing new insights and understanding of mental health, emotional wellbeing and clearer thinking (please see the links below). This natural holistic approach addresses biological, psychological, social and spiritual issues and compliments the more traditional medical, psychiatric and psychological approaches. The HG approach encompasses what is useful from a variety of approaches making it a safe and effective approach to treatment.
With some compassion, dignity and respect anyone can recover and enjoy life. Most clients feel better after their first consultation.

Dr Iqbal was born and educated in London. He trained to become a fully qualified medical doctor and specialised in psychiatry, psychotherapy and counselling (talking therapies and treatment). He continues to care for, support and treat people as a respected NHS Psychiatrist in Luton and Bedfordshire with over a decade of NHS experience. He is also a qualified Human Givens Psychotherapist using a more holistic approach to mental health and wellbeing.

Fees
Special discounted rates are offered to private clients:
- Counselling & treatment session (60 minutes): £60
- Comprehensive mental health assessment (90 minutes): £90
Further concessions are available to private clients. Different rates apply for businesses and organisations.

Dr Iqbal is fully registered with the General Medical Council and is indemnified by the Medical Protection Society. He is a graduate member of the Human Givens Institute as well as a member of the Medical Advisory Board of the Human Givens Foundation. He has an Enhanced Disclosure Certificate from the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB).
