Profile
Welcome to IAmCounselling, providing helpful, professional and sensitive mental health assessment, counselling and treatment out-of-hours. Independent expert reports can also be prepared following private assessment after receiving formal instructions and prior authorisation. Private clients can be seen quickly by an experienced and qualified medical specialist in a comfortable and relaxing environment. Private consultation with Dr Mohiuddin is by appointment only Monday to Friday from 6.30pm.
According to the UK’s leading mental health research, policy and service improvement charity the Mental Health Foundation 1 in 4 people will experience some kind of mental health problem in the course of a year. Dr Mohiuddin has successfully helped and treated many private clients from a wide variety of problems including depression and postnatal depression, stress and anxiety, bipolar affective disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, abuse, low self-confidence and self-esteem, relationship issues, anger and emotional problems, and addictions. Both individual and couples counselling can be provided according to clients' needs.
Initial mental health and wellbeing assessment usually takes 90 minutes. Common conditions such as depression and anxiety can be diagnosed, or indeed excluded. An evidence-based person-centred treatment plan can then be jointly agreed upon. Clients start to feel better after their initial assessment. Subsequent therapy and treatment sessions last 60 minutes. Follow up appointments for 30 minutes are also offered if needed.
Considerable clinical evidence and research supports the effectiveness of talking treatments and treatment with medication across a wide range of mental health problems such as depression and anxiety.
The Human Givens (HG) approach offers new insights into our mental health and emotional wellbeing (see links below). This holistic approach addresses biological, psychological and social approaches to recovery. The HG approach is based on well-established research in neuroscience and psychology, encompassing what is useful from a wide variety of therapeutic approaches. HG Therapy is a safe and effective approach to treatment and recovery. Growing evidence shows that people need less sessions of HG Therapy than other types of therapy to make a significant recovery from mild to moderate depression and anxiety.
With compassion and understanding, clients recover and enjoy life. Please refer to the main website www.iamcounselling.co.uk for further information.
