I offer counselling/holistic psychotherapy for most issues, and personal development work. I have had a private practice in Luton since 1991, working mainly with individuals and couples.
Contact me in the first place by phone, email or text so we can talk briefly about what your hopes and needs are and answer any questions you may have. We can then discuss current fees, and if appropriate, organise an Introductory Session. This session is for us to get to know each other and to arrange further sessions if we are going to continue. We would usually have a good sense of this by the end of the first session. I would not want you to make any commitment you were not comfortable with, and often we may agree to have a number of sessions to see how things go. It is important that we feel right about working together since our relationship will be fundamental to the success of the work we do.
I like to keep things as informal as possible. This is more about giving you an opportunity to talk with me, ask any further questions and get a feel of things rather than me interviewing or interrogating you!
I want you to be as comfortable as you can and am happy to talk to you about any concerns you may have. I understand that it can be difficult especially if you have never been to see a counsellor of therapist before or have had a bad experience previously.
I usually see clients in a room which is purposely designed to be a relaxing environment with comfortable chairs and soft lighting. My intention is that you should feel at ease and not like you are in a formal office.
I usually offer sessions in the evenings and late afternoon Monday – Friday but other times may be possible. Sessions are normally 1 hour at a regular time every week but am happy if necessary to be flexible, and to work with you to accommodate such things as work and family arrangements where I can. I also possibly make special arrangements, for example, with people who have to travel a long distance or can benefit from a longer session. All this would be discussed at the Introductory Session or as we go.
