Counsellor ProfileContacting a counsellor may seem really difficult and talking about problems to a stranger even harder to contemplate. My office in Moseley, South Birmingham offers an attractive, confidential and safe environment to explore issues; either in 6 sessions of brief therapy or more open-ended longer term work.
I see adults, couples and adolescents.
I have experience of working with a wide range of client problems, many of which involve some sort of loss. Clients bring relationship difficulties- from home or work, stress and anxiety, depression, bereavement, identity issues, spirituality, retirement and work related problems. I am interested in the issues around the middle years or midlife, which was the subject of my university research.
My work with clients is from a psychodynamic theoretical perspective, and looks at how the past is ever present in everyday life, how patterns from our childhood may be useful to us as children, but may be unnecessary to us in later years.
I also provide supervision to individuals and groups
