Sharon Kirby MBACP (Snr. accred) UKCP reg.
As an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor with 20 years experience, I work towards building a supportive and collaborative relationship with clients, creating a space where feelings, thoughts and experiences can safely be explored and processed. I believe the therapeutic process can bring about insight, greater self awareness and emotional growth, enabling individuals to move forwards towards achieving a greater sense of balance, fulfilment and peace in their lives.
Training, qualifications & experience
My initial training and qualification was as a Psychodynamic Counsellor. Over many years of professional development, including professional training as an Integrative Psychotherapist and a post-graduate qualification in working with couples, my approach is now informed by a range of therapeutic models along with contemporary research developments in the fields of Psychology and Neuroscience. Current interests and training include working with the body/mind using mindfulness based approaches and Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT) with couples.
My qualifications include an Honours Degree in Psychology, a Diploma and Masters degree in Counselling, a Masters degree in Integrative Psychotherapy, a diploma in Creative Couple-work. As required by the BACP and UKCP, I am in regular supervision and follow an ongoing programme of continued professional development.
