About me

Welcome, I’m Elle, I provide flexible counselling sessions for adults.

I understand that weekly sessions may not suit everyone due to time or financial constraints, my aim is to help you to access counselling in a way that you need. I offer the following:

  • Counselling sessions which can be spread weekly, fortnightly, or monthly, via telephone, online or face to face (Tunbridge Wells based) depending on your needs and issues.

  • Unique one session only sessions that can be useful to work on a specific issue or to provide a stop gap whilst waiting for NHS therapy.

  • An exclusive fixed price, low cost, monthly therapy membership that includes access to weekly counselling sessions, a monthly guided hypnotherapy recording to help change subconscious beliefs and patterns and a worksheet to help embed this work.

I have worked with all kinds of people, for all different reasons and I have found that’s its very rare for people just to want to talk about one particular issue.

I will offer you the opportunity for you to be heard, a chance for you to gain a different perspective and a deeper understanding of who you are and the choices you have. I provide a non-judgemental space for you to explore your own thoughts and feelings about the difficulties you may be having. You may be experiencing a difficult time in your life, you may be unsure about what you are feeling or what has brought you to counselling, you may find yourself just not feeling 'right'. I can work with you to explore what might be going on for you and how you can attempt to feel better.

I have successfully worked with clients who have been struggling with various issues including: bereavement, infertility, parenting, anxiety, depression, fears and phobias, habits, low self-esteem, relationship issues, addictions and abuse. I have worked with young people, as well as adults, both in private practice, with corporate EAP's and in schools. My particular interest is working with clients who have experienced bereavement and trauma.

As well as being a qualified counsellor I am also trained as a hypnotherapist so I also draw on this experience to help clients work through their issues if clients are open to this.

I see every person as the expert on their own lives and I believe everyone has the ability and right to develop fully. Sometimes in life, especially in times of distress individuals can get stuck, repeating old patterns of behaviour and out of date coping mechanisms. I believe by exploring your thoughts, feelings and behaviours either by using counselling or hypnotherapy techniques and by offering empathy, honesty, acceptance and respect you can heal yourself by making positive changes and emerge stronger and better equipped for your life ahead.

There are many different types of counselling available and it is important for you to find a counsellor you can feel comfortable with. I am an Integrative Humansitic Counsellor and Hypnotherapist which means I believe you are the expert on you. I will work with you on the issues you want to explore and a pace that is comfortable for you.

My approach is different with each client, depending on their needs at the time.

Where I work

You choose how you would like to work with me, online, telephone or face to face. If working face to face my therapy room is situated in the centre of Royal Tunbridge Wells and the address and map will be sent to you prior to our first session.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

I am an open and honest therapist who likes to do things differently and I have my clients best interest at the heart of everything I do. Having qualified in 2012, I have many years experiences working with clients. I am an extremely professional therapist, highly empathetic to my clients needs and feel hugely privileged to work with my clients and do the work I do. I know the world we are living in right now can feel a little upside down and you may be struggling to find your place in it. That’s ok, I’ve got you, I’m here to help because I get it. Though I may not have experienced exactly what you’re going through, I can be there with you to work through your challenges.
