About me

I am a Senior Accredited Psychotherapist, Hypnotherapist and Clinical Supervisor and have worked as a therapist for over 15 years. I am a Senior Accredited member of both the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (MCS Acc.) and the National Hypnotherapy Society (MCS Acc.) and follow the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy set by these associations. I am also registered on the Accredited Voluntary Register for Counsellors and Hypnotherapists (AVR).

I run my own private practice, Chameleon Therapy Centre.  I offer a comprehensive range of professional and confidential therapeutic services, including hypno-psychotherapy, counselling, hypnotherapy, and clinical supervision too individuals, couples and young people.

I also offer a free initial 30-minute consultation to start.  Appointments can be held face-to-face, online or by telephone.

Some of the areas I offer support are: weight-management, smoking cessation, infertility, anxiety disorders and phobias, health anxiety, OCD, stress-management, pain-management, sleep disorders, motivation and confidence, relationship issues, bereavement, anger-management, PTSD, trauma, domestic abuse, childhood abuse, narcissistic abuse, personality disorders, public speaking and self-esteem, building resilience and cancer support.

Sometimes life can be particularly challenging and confusing, and you may feel that you can no longer cope. You may have reached a crisis point in your life and feel unable to live with the problem any longer.  You may feel uncomfortable discussing these issues with friends or family or may have no-one you can talk to. Feeling alone can make the problem seem insurmountable and ultimately hold you back.

Today you have taken the first step to making positive changes in your life, the beginning of your journey into a less stressful and more promising and fulfilling future. Although change is necessary, it can also be overwhelming and finding the appropriate support and resources to assist you in working through your feelings and exploring effective and beneficial solutions to your problems will help lessen the load.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I embrace an integrative approach that draws upon Transactional Analysis, incorporating various techniques such as hypnotherapy, CBT, mindfulness, inner child work, Psychodynamic therapy, and Person-Centred strategies. Her ultimate goal is to guide clients on their healing journey towards a healthier mind. Chalene firmly believes in the inherent value of every individual and is dedicated to helping clients cultivate self-awareness, overcome past traumas, and embrace a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Therapy provides a warm, supportive and safe space in which you can freely express, explore and clarifying your feelings and thoughts in a relaxed and nonthreatening way.

As your therapist, I will help you make sense of your present by encouraging you to "unmuddle" your thoughts and feelings, enabling you to gain a clearer perspective of your life and goals.  I may work Psychodynamically, incorporating Inner Child Healing work to help you understand how your past shapes and informs your present, your beliefs, your attachments style and the way in which you engage with yourself, others and your world, helping you to find healing from the past.

I may help you set realistic goals, make informed choices and explore useful tools and strategies to better cope.  I may encourage you to evaluate unhelpful behaviours and habits, explore ways you can take positive action, maintain these positive changes and move into your future with a renewed sense of hope and purpose.

Therapy can support and encouraging you to discover and realise your true, unlimited potential.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications include a level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision, an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, a diploma in Hypnotherapy and a Certificate in couples counselling.  I am a Hypno-Oncology Practitioner with the Association of Hypno-Oncology.

I have worked at the Northampton Clinic, Rushden Mind and Bower House Services in Market Harborough.

I first worked as a Drama and English teacher in South Africa before moving to the UK.  During this period I gained valuable experience working with children from disadvantaged and troubled backgrounds incorporating both theatre and drama therapy into my work.

Working extensively in the video, TV and film industry and running my own production company has given me invaluable insight into the issues facing women in the industry today from struggling with issues around sexism, maintaining a work/life balance, overcoming feelings of guilt returning to work, starting or running a business and improving health and fitness. Having worked with creative people both in the profession and as a counsellor and coach, I have helped and supported artists explore ways in which they can better flourish in their industry; overcoming fear of rejection, stage fright, improving health and personal body image, learning to quiet negative self-talk and to grow in personal power and confidence.
