When you're feeling anxious or depressed, it helps to talk your issues through with someone - friends or family can be a tremendous help, but it can be beneficial to discuss problems with a professional therapist; someone who is not part of your family or social group. I create and maintain a safe, non-judgmental place to give you the space to achieve this.
A safe harbour, away from the storms and squalls of life, can enable you to take a look at what isn't working for you (and what is!). You can then decide what to keep and what to change, if anything, and how to begin that process. Perhaps you need a stronger boat? Maybe some shore leave? Sometimes it can be enough to shelter for a while, to tell your story and decide 'where next?'.
I am accredited with the BACP and have chalked up over 12 years counselling experience. I work at a GP surgery and carry out employee counselling support for a large Government organisation as well as seeing private clients.
I am an empathic and professional counsellor, interested in any issue. I approach and work with the whole person rather than just the problem they may come with. Helping the client to discover how they can best manage their issue within the framework of a supportive relationship is paramount.
Discovering and tailoring an individual style for each client I meet is what makes the work so rewarding and effective. Alongside my person-centred approach, I use EFT or tapping as it is called, to help dissolve blocks encountered along the way.
I work at in the middle of Shrewsbury, easy to get to on foot, by bus and with nearby parking.
Whatever you're struggling with, big or small, be it a difficult relationship, depression, grief or anxiety for example, do get in touch and let's see if we can find a way forward. I look forward to collaborating with you. Call or email to arrange an initial session.
