About me

My name is Paul Beevor and I practise counselling in the village of Harefield, near both Uxbridge and Watford. I am a registered, accredited counsellor with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and have many years of counselling experience.

Since becoming a counsellor I have been able to help many people change their lives in a positive way. Counselling can be the starting point for you to change your life too. It offers a safe, caring, non-judgemental environment for you to explore the feelings and issues that are preventing your from moving forward. Counselling can empower you with the insight and skills to make the life changes you are seeking and open the door to a better future.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am trained in the Psychodynamic and Person Centred Approach models of counselling and my qualifications include a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling from Goldsmiths University of London. In addition, I am currently a contracted counsellor for the NHS.

I have been able to help clients with a range of issues including:

  • relationship problems
  • anger management
  • physical and sexual abuse
  • self defeating behaviours
  • low self esteem
  • anxiety and panic attacks
  • depression
  • unresolved childhood trauma
  • bereavement and loss
  • obsessive compulsive disorders

Further information

Counselling is an opportunity to be heard and listened to in a unique way; reflecting back what you present to a counsellor can allow you to explore pre-conceived ideas and perceptions you may hold about yourself.

Therapeutic counselling can enable you to challenge these perceptions and empower you to make the changes in your life that are important to you.

During the first session we can discuss your specific requirements in complete confidentiality. This will be an opportunity for you to to talk about the issues that have brought you to counselling and to discuss the way forward.

As an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling. As required by the BACP I meet regularly with my supervisor; these meetings ensure that I am working within ethical boundaries.

All my counselling work is completely confidential. No records are kept that could identify you. The only exception to this is if I was to gain knowledge of a significant risk of harm to yourself or another person. In such cases, I would discuss this with you beforehand.
