Dianne Radford MA, MBACP (Accred) Counsellor/Psychotherapist/Supervisor
Introduction - I am a fully qualified and experienced Counsellor and Supervisor with over 15 years experience both in the NHS and private practice. I am committed to my clients and passionate about therapy. My approach is warm, authentic and non-judgemental.
I initially trained as a mental health nurse and became passionate about counselling. In counselling the therapeutic relationship (between client and counsellor) can be a powerful experience in which we can explore and understand how we relate to others. Sometimes, we can experience an inner conflict because we find we are living our lives how we feel we should and responding to what others want us to be, rather than authentic and real. Counselling is an opportunity to re-learn those familiar patterns of how we think, feel and behave and gain awareness which can then lead us to change.
Introduction to me- I have many years experience of working in the NHS as a Counsellor and Supervisor which has enabled me to work effectively, to a high standard and with compassion. I undertake continued professional development and training to ensure my practice is up to date. As an Accredited member of BACP I provide a safe confidential ethical service.
Introduction to my work - I am experienced in working with a variety of issues which clients bring to counselling such as depression, anxiety , bereavement and loss, sexual abuse both as a child and as an adult, low self esteem, relationship issues, domestic violence, attachment issues, chronic illness and anger. I provide one-to-one counselling which can be short term (brief focused) and also long term therapy. I am warm and genuine (down to earth) and am not judgemental. I aim to provide a safe trusting environment in which a client can really explore and gain an understanding into their worries, concerns, dilemmas. The inital session is more of an assessment to really explore and understand what the issues are. I work in collaboration with the client to ensure they are fully understood.
I work from home and have an identified therapy room which is confortable and relaxing.
