Linda Hancox (Adv Dip Coun, Registered MBACP) - Compassionate Life Counselling
07816 537 059
There are times in all our lives when we need to make sense of what is happening and understand our thoughts and feelings. As a passionate and experienced counsellor, I can offer you the opportunity to do all this in a welcoming, safe, supportive and confidential space, initially with a free session.
My natural compassion will allow me to connect with and understand your feelings and to care about your experiences. I will reach out to you as one human being to another. I will listen and respond to you as the person you are and the person you want to be.
Having experienced counselling for myself, I know the value of being listened to and of being able to share my difficulties with someone who cares, someone outside of my family and friends.
I love the quote ‘We’re all in this together’. Written by Irvin Yallom, a counsellor and psychotherapist, it sums up how I feel about living life and being with others.
I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a friend and a colleague and know the very real challenges these roles can bring. I trained intially in primary school education and spent many happy years giving to others within this context. I value relationships and the power of communication within them. It was through being divorced and other aspects of my personal life which led to mental health issues, that I needed counselling and gained enormously from it. These experiences led me to re-train as a counsellor and I love the aspect of being able to give something back based on my personal understanding, experiences and qualities.
I am trained in Integrative Counselling. It is rooted in Person Centred counselling but it also means I can select from a number of different approaches in order to offer you the counselling which best suits you and your needs. Our sessions together will be mainly based around discussion, but may also include, at invitation, other sensitive, creative and imaginative approaches.
I can offer short or long term counselling - whatever you feel you need, with you in control.
I have enjoyed working in a variety of settings including charity agencies, GP surgeries and private practice. I now work from home in a private and comfortable room.
For further information, please feel free to contact me via email or mobile. I look forward to hearing from you.
