Welcome to my page.
You might be here because you are considering getting some help with something that's concerning you. Maybe you feel that things can't go on the way they are now. Perhaps you're facing a crisis, or therapy is something that you've always wanted to do, because you'd like to have a better understanding of who you are.
Therapy can help because its not an ordinary chat. Its an interaction with a professional who is trained to listen in a thoughtful and sensitive way; someone who is constantly focused on finding out what it is you really want, how you really feel, and what you are really saying.
I hold an MSc in Therapeutic Counselling. In the past, I have worked at a University counselling service, a mental health day centre, a local Mind counselling service, a specialist therapeutic service for problem gamblers, and apart from my private practice, I currently work for an NHS Specialist Psychotherapy Service. I am also currently conducting a mother and infant observation study. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by their code of ethics.
My initial training was integrative, which meant that I was introduced to a range of theories used to understand client difficulties (humanistic, existential, psychosynthesis, psychoanalysis and cognitive behavioural approaches). Over the years I have taken part in a large number of continuing professional development activities, and my focus has increasingly been on psychodynamic and Jungian ways of thinking. In practice, this means that in attempting to understand you, we may be looking at places you haven’t looked at before, or explore parts of yourself you are less aware of.
I am a warm and empathic therapist, and I work to create an atmosphere of trust in the room. I have often worked with clients who struggled to express their feelings and I am sensitive to how difficult it sometimes is to share your troubles with a total stranger.
My practice is located in Dalston, E8. The nearest station is Dalston Junction, but Haggerston and Dalston Kingsland are also a short walk away. I can also offer therapy online. I usually encourage clients to meet me face-to-face first or to have a brief discussion to assess the suitability of online therapy before commencing this kind of work.
Please feel free to call me on 07906395564 or email me on email@example.com if you have any questions or to book an initial consultation. If I am unable to pick up your call, please leave a message stating clearly your full name, and when you would be available for a call-back.
