About me

  • I am a qualified Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, trained at the Westminster Pastoral Foundation in London (WPF) and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic studies from Roehampton University as well as the Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling.

Psychotherapy can help with a very wide range of personal and relationship issues, both short term and long term.

Some of the range of issues I have helped people with include:

  • marriage and relationship problems
  • feelings of sadness or depression
  • addiction
  • eating disorders
  • domestic violence

Whatever problems you are experiencing, talking to a psychotherapist will help you uncover the causes and from that understanding comes the possibility of change.

Working together, each week, we can piece together the reasons that underly your issues, and enable you to bring about lasting improvements in the way you feel and are able to act.

My task as therapist is to help you achieve an understanding of your feelings, not to provide judgement or advice. Psychoanalytic counselling is an enabling process: enabling you to a better understanding of yourself, your feelings and behaviours and from there making personal change for the better a possibility.

Your counselling will last as long as you decide it should. There is no minimum or maximum duration for therapy, and it will become clearer as we work together what you want to achieve and when you have done so.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Psychoanalytic Therapist, trained at the Westminster Pastoral Foundation in London (WPF) and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic studies from Roehampton University as well as the Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling.

As an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I am qualified to practice as a psychotherapist. BACP members are required 'to demonstrate the capacity for independent, competent, ethical practice and must have both recognized training and substantial experience in the practice of psychotherapy.

I am also an accredited member of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC), which is the graduate body for the Westminster Pastoral Foundation.

I see therapy clients in my home in North London, which is very close to Winchmore Hill BR station, a few minutes from Enfield, Palmers Green and Southgate.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

My fee for the initial 90-minute assessment session is £120. If you then proceed to regular therapy, sessions are charged at £70

Payment should be made by cash or bank transfer at the end of each session.

Sessions normally last 50 minutes and are held weekly. Missed sessions are chargeable.

Following the initial assessment, we will start to meet on a regular basis. This is normally once or twice weekly for a session of 50 minutes, at the same time on the same day.
