About me

The Place for Counselling has been an established practice close to Bromley South since 2007, providing a comfortable, quiet, confidential environment for people during times of personal crisis and struggle. My aim is to support people through these difficult times and to help them cope with and manage the challenges life can bring us.

I have experience of counselling people with many issues but particularly illness and disability relationships and family problems,
anxiety, stress, anger, loss, bereavement, phobias and unwanted thoughts habits or behaviours. (OCD)

My approach is forward looking and positive, helping clients obtain clarity, strength and peace enabling them to move forward in their lives with more confidence. I am trained to help clients examine their current struggles in the here and now, whilst still giving the past respectful recognition and time.
I also use CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) with clients where appropriate .

As an integrative therapist I adapt my therapeutic approach to each clients individual needs which will be examined in the initial assessment.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training in Integrative Counselling gave me the skills to use the three main approaches used in counselling today. These are Humanistic, which deals with the here and now; Psychodynamic, which relates the past to the present and CBT, which looks at how unhelpful thinking patterns can be changed.

My private practice has been established since 2007.

I worked as a volunteer counsellor with the mental health charity MIND between 2005 and 2013

I am a qualified supervisor of counsellors and others who work in the helping professions.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and abide by their code of ethics.
