About me

A fully qualified and experienced, MBACP registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist working in private practice since 2009. I offer both short (6-12 sessions) and longer-term counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families.  With a diverse range of therapeutic experience - I am based just a few minutes walk from London Bridge Station, SE1.

My approach:
An experienced Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, I pride myself on practicing to the highest ethical standards and I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). This means I adhere strictly to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Code of Ethics.

With an honest and open approach, I provide a confidential, supportive and safe space - where people can discuss and explore their personal issues, their choices, their behaviours, their thoughts, their beliefs and feelings - without fear of judgement, reproach or discrimination.

People enter into counselling or psychotherapy for many different reasons – each person’s issues are unique, and so my focus is always on the individual and what they bring to the counselling room.

As an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist my therapeutic approach draws from both the Humanistic and Psychodynamic schools of thought in dealing with issues of change or acceptance. I also draw on a number of approaches and styles of counselling to help clients explore and resolve their problems and achieve their goals and aspirations. These include Person-centred, Transactional Analysis, Existential and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles.

I also offer online and telephone sessions. I currently work online and telephone with clients within the UK and in various other countries around the world, including Pakistan and Kenya.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
