I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist working in the field since 2002. I have gained extensive experience working at a range of agencies on issues including trauma, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression and low self esteem etc. Apart from my own well established private practice which has been running since 2005, I worked as a counsellor/psychotherapist for ten years at a crisis centre for adults recovering from recent or historic sexualised trauma And in addition two drop in centres for teens and young adults.
My belief is that no one theory fits all so I trained 'Integratively' incorporating various theories into one model enabling me to tailor the work to suit your individual needs. My style of work is collaborative and explorative without presumption as I believe in individuality and embrace uniqueness. The aim is to help you understand yourself including any unconscious behaviours and ways of relating that you wish to change or to work on specific issues that are causing you emotional distress. The work can be short or long term depending on your needs which will be identified at the assessment.
It can be daunting looking for the right therapist and the fit between client and therapist is crucial to the outcome. For this reason I offer a full assessment lasting about an hour so you get a chance to also assess me and to get a feel for how I work. My private practice in Stubbington is in a quiet confidential setting with private parking and within easy reach of the M27, Fareham, Gosport and Whitely. I provide an environment which is caring, supportive and respectful.
The fee for either assessment or sessions is £50. Sessions are weekly on a short or long term basis.
If you would like any further information or would like to make either a daytime or evening appointment for an assessment please email or ring me and I will respond to you as soon as possible, usually the same day.
