I have over 10 yrs experience of working with depression and anxiety and the links with trauma and physical health problems. I believe that it is important to offer a safe and confidential space in which we can collaboratively work towards an deeper understanding of what is troubling you.
There can be times in which you can experience emotional difficulties such as anxiety or depression and it might feel you are losing control of your life. Those feelings can be caused by a variety of situations or life events such as relationships issues, roles changes, life transitions, traumatic events, etc. Counselling can give you the opportunity to talk through it in a safe space.
My approach is psychodynamic which means that my focus is on how past events might have influenced your way to respond to certain life events, by making links and facilitating a deeper understanding of repeating pattern of behaviour.
I have experience of working short and long term using a variety of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I do not believe in a "one fit all" approach but I try and use what fits best the needs of my clients.
My area of expertise is working with people that have suffered depression and anxiety as a consequence of traumatic experiences in childhood.
I have a lot of experience of working with people from different cultural backgrounds and I can also offer counselling in Italian language.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I abide by their code of ethics and practice.
I offer a free initial telephone consultation to give you the opportunity to find out a bit more about the way I work and decide if counselling is right for you at this time. I can also offer a face to face initial 30min consultation for a reduced price of £15.
