About me

I provide a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where my clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. This approach is based on my belief that each person has the ability to find their own solutions to their problems and live an authentic life that is meaningful to them.

The way I work places a strong emphasis on the relationship between myself and my client. I strive to create a safe and empathetic space where you feel heard and understood without feeling judged or criticised. Through active listening and reflection, I will help you gain insight into your own feelings, needs, and desires. You will be encouraged to take an active role in the counselling process, while I act as a facilitator and guide.

I also believe that many difficulties people face arise from the fundamental issues of existence such as mortality, meaning, and purpose. If appropriate, I will support you in exploring these issues, helping you to develop a greater sense of self-awareness and a deeper understanding of your place in the world. You will be encouraged to take responsibility for your own life and to recognise that you have the power to make choices that align with your values and goals.

I have 20 years experience working with young people and adults from a wide range of backgrounds and with a broad variety of issues. Please contact me to find out more about how we could work together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified as a Counsellor in 2010. I hold a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling (Merit) from Thames Valley University, London, UK, a BACP accredited course.   I also hold a Certificate in Counselling from TVU.   I have trained in a wide range of specialisms associated with bereavement.

I have volunteered for Hillingdon Mind, Bereft Bereavement Support and Place2Be, and have been active in child and family bereavement since 2002.

As well as my private practice I have been employed by Child Bereavement UK as a Bereavement Support Practitioner, and a Mental Health Practitioner by Place2Be. I currently work for  Southbank International School in London as a Young Person Counsellor.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
