I help couples, adults, young people and families who are finding life confusing, challenging and often distressing. I support those for whom communicating and being in their couple relationship and family relationships has become a source of hurt, resentment and distance. Separation and divorce means we may have to think differently about being in relationship as parents with each other and with our children. Living with anxiety, depression, low mood can cause suffering and misunderstanding. I work with the hope and possibility that change will happen and that we can be resourceful in moving through the challenges that we face.
I offer one-off consultation sessions. This can be helpful when there is uncertainty about what support is needed either for ourselves or others. It can be useful to talk this through with a third party. It may be that a referral to another organisation is more appropriate and I can provide support in writing referrals.
A Counselling Psychotherapist and Systemic and Family Psychotherapist. I trained in psychology, then in couple and relationship counselling, young people and family counselling at Relate. I hold a masters degree in systemic and family therapy from the Institute of Family Therapy, London. I work as a family therapist within the NHS in specialist child and adolescent mental health ("CAMHS") and as a private practitioner.
I work within the ethical framework of The British Association of Counselling Psychotherapists (“BACP”) and The Association of Family Therapy (‘AFT”). You might find it helpful to visit these sites to find out more about counselling and therapy.
Please do contact me if you have any questions or if you would like to arrange an initial appointment.
