About me

I have been a Counsellor for 25 years and am passionate about my work.  Entering into a counselling relationship with a client is a privilege, and I believe each session is a unique opportunity to work together to bring about the change that person wants to see in their life.  I use a combination of person centred and cognitive based counselling skills that have helped people move forward without developing a long term dependence on counselling.  I believe the client is the best judge of their requirements and offer short and long-term counselling, adapted to that person's needs.

I bring a wealth of work and life experience to my counselling practice.  I am a parent of now adult children, and for much of that time have been a working single mother.  I have also experienced divorce, bereavement and other losses, which I believe has given me a greater empathic understanding of the issues my clients bring to work on.

My work is informed and inspired by my training, life experience and the many clients I have had the privilege of working with.  I offer a gentle humanistic approach and work together with my clients to find the best solutions to their problems.

'Within minutes of our first session I felt relaxed and at ease in Sipora's presence.  She listened to me with care and attention and the thoughts she offered up were always salient and appreciated.  I am so glad that I chose to talk to her.  She has helped me face a very difficult time and all my family relationships feel better as a result.'

'Sipora helped me tremendously through a very difficult time.  I felt very at ease during my counselling sessions.  I feel I have been able to let go of a lot of past stuff.  I am now moving forward more confidently in my life'.

'The benefits I gained from my sessions with Sipora were immense.  Often I would arrive for my session feeling harassed and unhappy.  Having time talking with Sipora I was able to calm down and be more realistic about what I expected of myself.  Sipora was never judgemental, but supported me in a way that I found incredibly helpful.'
