Gill Claireaux, UKCP registered, CTA, MSc Psychotherapy, Dip Counselling
I offer both counselling and psychotherapy to individuals.
My experience includes working with low self esteem, neglect, relationship issues, depression, anger, anxiety, family issues, bereavement, child related issues, generalised anxiety, trauma and abuse. My training enables me to work in depth with complex issues.
I feel being supported is important, especially at difficult times in life - when confused, in crisis, grieving, experiencing loss or change and during other significant turning points. Life can be so busy and it can be difficult to set aside time and space to explore our thoughts and feelings.
It is important to me to support others in the way that I am supported. I support clients to come to terms with what they have experienced or are experiencing in the present, and to become increasingly able to trust and use their own resources and problem solving abilities.
The basis of my work is the dialogue between us, and I trust the potential that a respectful, non-judgemental and supportive human relationship offers. My priority is to create a safe space where your choices can become clearer and more profoundly connected to your values: to raise your awareness, enabling you to articulate what matters to you. I believe that we all possess the ability to solve our own problems. I believe in people - the drive to survive, the capacity for awareness and the potential for growth.
I have previously worked in the NHS and now run a Private Practice. I am fully insured, CRB checked and registered under the Data Protection Act.
