I am a qualified and experienced Counsellor a member of the National Counselling Society, working with individuals, couples and children. I also work with families, to assist with relationship breakdowns and any other problems they may be going through.
The type of therapy I use is intervention, using different models to help you understand your present situation. These models are CBT, Person Centred, Psychodynamics and Transactional Analysis, which all allow a personal therapy plan that is best for you.
I have worked with many clients, who present different types of issues including abuse, depression, anxiety & panic attacks, confidence - low self esteem and self worth, relationship problems, issues from childhood, bereavement, Illness, alcohol and drug addiction.
My specialties are:
- anger management
- all relationship problems (both couple and individual)
- stress and anxiety
- and eating disorders.
Relationships are affected due to a breakdown in the lack of communication and understanding. You start to feel frustrated and trapped, even unsupported. This is the time where help may be needed, to gain understanding, to the reasons to why you feel the way you do.
Bereavement Counselling is also one of the many other areas I work. When we lose a loved one, we find ourselves lost, we feel shock, denial and despair. We yearn and search for the ones we love, and feel life will never be the same again. Bereavement counselling helps you to recognise, all that you are feeling is very normal. You are not going mad, you are just lost and empty without the one you loved so dearly.
Sometimes the need to talk to someone is often thought about, but not always followed through. It can be very difficult to talk to a partner, family member or friend about things that are affecting us. As we hold ourselves back, from expressing how we really feel, from fear of being a burden or causing worry to them. Contacting a counsellor can be a large step to take, but it may well be the best thing you ever did.
My aim is to offer you a safe, confidential place for you to explore your problems, thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I will help you work through your issues, and assist you in learning to understand, who you are. Which will help you to gain new insights enabling you to move forward in your life more positively.
