I help people discover their authentic self, their ability to form healthy loving relationships, to be free from anxiety and depression, and to re-engage with life in ways that are more nourishing, creative and resilient.
I offer you a safe confidential space, where together we can explore what is troubling you. I will listen and support you in discovering new possibilities that will expand your capacity for self-understanding, autonomy, spontaneity and intimacy.
I am an experienced psychotherapist and a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). My professional training has been extensive over the past 11 years, and I have in-depth knowledge of both Gestalt Psychotherapy and Transactional Analysis Counselling.
This year in March 2016 I started a 2 year training course in Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy with Ruella Frank. Inspired by the work of developmental psychologists, motor theorists, and somatic educators, Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy is a template for understanding and working with early psycho-physical blocks as they emerge in present moments of the adult therapy session. Attending to movement patterns within therapy is particularly powerful when guided by current developmental thinking.
I have experience working with people from a range of diverse backgrounds, both in short and long-term settings. At the heart of my work is a deep respect for the uniqueness and dignity of each person that I work with. It is my view that in seeking therapy people are making an important and courageous step towards taking control of their health and well-being.
I have helped people resolve many psychological difficulties including chronic anxiety and panic, depression, trauma, abuse, self-harm, loss, low self-esteem and relationship problems. I also have additional training in body-related issues, such as eating disorders, body-image, living with physical pain, and the impact of long-term illnesses such as chronic fatigue syndrome.
