Profile
Professionally qualified counsellor and psychotherapist with extensive experience of helping people discover their own solutions to a wide range of life problems and concerns.
I offer a clearly contracted-for therapeutic engagement (talking relationship) which is carefully attuned to the needs, circumstances and commitment of each individual and consistently aimed at effecting measurably beneficial change.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
Five-year UKCP-accredited post-graduate training in counselling and psychotherapy at Leeds Psychotherapy Training Institute and the Berne Institute, Nottingham (of which I also hold the Diploma in Counselling) plus two-year practicum leading via written and oral examination to the award of EATA-Certified Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapy) status and UKCP registration.
Numerous supplementary trainings to enhance skills and expertise including body psychotherapy, relationship counselling, clinical supervision, coaching, cognitive hypnotherapy and energy psychology.
During a career spanning teaching, training, guidance, support, advocacy and management in the education and health sectors my passion throughout has been helping people to change, develop and surprise themselves. I've worked as a therapist in settings as diverse as a university counselling service, a mental health charity and two NHS trusts, as well as in independent practice.
