Profile

My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is from a psychodynamic perspective, which basically means trying to make sense of the present in terms of the past. I work with individuals of any age to try to sort out issues which are causing difficulties and distress. The problems may be connected with immediate life crises or may be more persistent and of longstanding duration. I also work with couples who are having problems.

According to need, I work in a short-term way or a longer-term open ended way.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and am on the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I have a Certificate in Counselling and a Post-graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Practice. I have worked in the voluntary sector, the NHS and have been in private practice for nearly 20 years.
