About me

As an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, I have worked with a wide range of clients over a number of years enabling them to move forward with their lives in a happier and more fulfilling way.

My approach is basically psychodynamic but will vary from client to client. Usually we will look initially at your most pressing area of concern  - the 'presenting' problem. We then usually look at your background and early experiences - allowing you to make links between how you are behaving and feeling now, and what has happened to you along the way. From here you will become enabled to move towards the future with new insights and understandings and a new freedom.

Feedback from my clients has always been very positive:

'I am ready to live again, and take chances, and for that I thank you'.

'I can't begin to thank you enough...not only did you help me through my darkest days, but you have helped me to become a stronger, happier person altogether'.

' ...it has helped me to understand why I think, feel and behave the way I do and, more importantly, how I can change'.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Masters degree in  Psychology and a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and have worked in the field of counselling for over twenty years - almost half of these within the NHS.

In addition, I work in private  practice in  Faversham as well as offering telephone appointments.
I see  a range of clients whose issues include  addictions, phobias, depression, panic attacks, anxiety, relationship problems, anger issues, eating disorders and self-harm as well as issues arising from bereavement.

I am a registered  member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP) as well as being an accredited member of The National Counselling Society. I work to the BACP code of ethics.

I have been involved with training for the Samaritans and assisted schools with their management of young people with anger issues, autism or behavioural difficulties.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
