As a registered Art Psychotherapist, I provide a confidential therapeutic service to those clients who may find verbal therapy difficult or may prefer a different way of expressing themselves. Art Psychotherapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses art media as its primary mode of communication. The relationship between the therapist and the client is of central importance, but art therapy differs from other psychological therapies in that it is a three way process between the client, the therapist and the image or artefact. Thus it offers an opportunity for verbal as well as visual expression and communication and can be particularly helpful to people who find it hard to express their thoughts and feelings verbally.
I have worked with adults and families with a wide range of psychological difficulties, children in primary and secondary schools, young people and adults with profound learning disabilities, sex offenders and youth offenders.

Art Psychotherapy is particularly effective with children, people with disabilities, siblings, parents wishing to engage in therapy with their children, and those who prefer non-verbal communication using symbolism and metaphor. However, this form of psychotherapy is particularly effective if you find it difficult to describe or verbalise what you are going through of if you enjoy creativity and visual expression.
Sessions can be held individually or in small groups with up to 4 people. Please enquire directly with Blanka if you need further information about fees for group therapy.
