About me

Are you struggling in some areas of your life at the moment?   You may be feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, or having difficulties at work.  You maybe having relationship difficulties, suffering from a bereavement or lacking purpose and meaning in your life.

Through counselling you can explore these difficulties to gain an understanding of what is going on for you and how they are affecting your emotions and behaviours. Together we can identify strategies to find ways to manage and cope with the problems you are facing, with the aim of developing confidence and fulfilment.

What you can expect

I am an integrative counsellor; this means I use a number of therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs whilst working on the material you bring to the sessions. Offering a non-judgemental, safe and secure space to discuss what is going on for you. I work not only with the spoken language but use creative communication techniques to develop a deeper opportunity to explore your world and achieve a greater understanding of the difficulties and problems that you are facing.

Next Steps
Please feel free to contact me to ask any questions about the counselling I offer. You can then decide if you wish to book an initial consultation. During the initial consultation we will begin to explore what is happening for you, what your needs are and what expectations you have of counselling, and I will take you through the way I work. Then we can decide whether counselling would be suitable for you and if so, book ongoing counselling sessions for a mutually agreed time.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I have worked with a wide range of clients from age 5 through to 70.

I am DBS checked.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
