About me

My Background

I have been working as an integrative psychotherapist, couple therapist and psychosexual therapist for over 35 years. I offer specialist support with relationship and sexual issues to individuals and couples as well as supervision to practising counsellors and psychotherapists. My work has developed and matured over the years and, although I'm always aware of familiar relationship patterns and make use of these to help individuals and couples, I also find that each relationship/individual is unique. Supporting and valuing this uniqueness is what makes my work interesting and rewarding.

What I'm offering

I'm offering support to individuals and couples who are having difficulty in their relationships. You may be experiencing anxiety and unhappiness in the relationship, you may have sex problems, money problems or problems with bringing up your children and I'm certainly able to help with this. However, my aim is not just to get the relationship 'back on track' but also to deepen and develop it so it becomes the best it can be.

The relationships I work with are not just couple relationships. I also have experience of working with parents and their grown up children and relationships between siblings. In my individual work, I'm happy to explore any relationships in your life including, and especially, your relationship with yourself.

Availability and Location

I'm now working face to face in Frome at the Lifecare Health Clinic.  Contact me to book.  My Zoom practice will continue and is generally quite busy - I have some daytime spaces, but evening slots are less easy to come by. However, these things can change very rapidly so do contact me anyway.

My book Sexual Grounding Therapy: context, Theory and Practice was published by Routledge in May 2021 - see link below. The subject matter is one of the therapies I'm trained in and it will be interesting and useful to both professionals and people who are curious about the influence of their up-bringing on their sexual relationships.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
