About me

I originally trained more than 25 years ago with Relate working with couples, individuals and families on every aspect of their relationship difficulties. Life experience and further professional training has given me more in-depth knowledge and understanding about relationships which I believe are central to all our lives.

Life can feel a struggle for us all at times. This may be related to stress at work, relationship difficulties, life events, bereavement, or issues from the past suddenly intruding into our present.  If we are lucky, we may have a supportive partner, family, friends or colleagues to talk over our problems with, but sometimes even then, some issues may be too difficult to speak out about.

For some, a way of coping through adversity is to try to ‘keep going’ in order to distract from the real root cause of the pain. However, unresolved issues often grow leaving us feeling stuck, helpless, depressed, frustrated and angry. Feeling out of control in our lives can feel frightening and overwhelming. If you are in a couple relationship, things can feel even worse as misunderstandings grow and conflict or loneliness become complicating factors exacerbating the difficulty.

Talking things over with another person can often relieve tension and help us to see things more clearly. I can offer you my professional time and experience to explore your issues in a safe, confidential, non judgmental environment. We would work together to make meaning of how and why life may have become difficult, often by looking at the past and looking at changes that can be made to improve the quality of your life and relationships in the present.

Coming into counselling/therapy is an expensive activity so it is important that you find someone who you not only feel comfortable working with, but who is adequately trained and experienced to manage your particular difficulties. I invite you to call me to discuss any queries you have or to visit my website: www.counsellinginoundle.co.uk.   Ultimately it is only by meeting face to face that you can make that important decision for ongoing work and I wish you well in your search.
