I am a Registered BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and aim to offer clients and supervisees space and trust to explore issues in a confidential and non-judgemental environment.
By offering this safe and confidential space, I will really try to help you find a way to make changes in your life, if that is what is needed. A place to explore confusion, worries and difficulties, to grow and develop or learn to make different choices, whatever feels important to you! In this space it can be possible to develop self-awareness and find acceptance where changes may be achieved. Getting up and living daily lives can be overwhelming for some people if they are experiencing, for example, anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement, relationship issues. Everything can get "on top of them" and they may panic and struggle to function - I aim to help support clients explore their issues and grow in confidence whereby they may move forward in a more positive manner.
I help people make connections and realisations with a view to separating their past from their present. This can help the individual in some way to make changes as they have the knowledge then as to why they behave in a particular way. Some people just want "everything to stop going round and round in their heads"; I can't unfortunately change people's pasts, but I will endeavour to help the client process what they may have been left from their past and help them "file it away" somewhere different in their head. Metaphorically speaking, instead of issues been in the top of the filing cabinet at the front; hopefully by the end of the counselling process, issues will be filed in the bottom drawer of the filing cabinet at the back.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and work to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I am also registered on the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors/Psychotherapists.
Please see my separate profile on supervision if you are a Counsellor or Counsellor in Training looking for a supervisor.
