To book an initial session or to speak on the phone you can reach me on 07966 582320 or email using the button on this page. If I am unable to answer the phone I will endeavour to call you back on the same day usually within a few hours.

I offer individual counselling and psychotherapy sessions on an open-ended basis or for an agreed period.

I also offer supervision to other practitioners.

The first session(s) can be used to explore in confidence what brings you to therapy and whether psychotherapy might be what you need right now.

I have experience in helping people who have had difficulties with stress, anxiety, drug induced psychosis, relationships, panic attacks, bereavement, depression, addiction, personality disorders, etc.

I also work with people trying to find a greater meaning in life, those needing help with life transitions and people who are feeling stuck in their life, their relationships or their spiritual practice.

Psycho analytic psychotherapy or counselling?

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy aims to create a safe and contained space where people can get to know their internal world and can revisit the internal formations that make up who they are.

Becoming consciously aware of these internal formations and processes, and developing the capacity to think about them with a therapist allows the internal world to change, mental / psychic growth can occur and unhelpful and unnecessary limitations can be moved beyond.

As our relationship with ourselves deepens and develops, at the same time our experience of the external world and our external relationships develop and deepen including our relationship with life itself.

Symptoms can be seen as a sign of an internal imbalance and they will often disappear or become more manageable during this process.

amongst other things psychotherapy may be helpful if:

you are depressed, anxious or stressed
you want to improve your relationships
you suffer from panic attacks
you live with eating disorders
you have experienced loss or bereavement
you are confused about your sexuality
your life seems to lack meaning
you want to develop your potential
you suffer from obsessional thoughts
you feel held back by inappropriate anger or lack of confidence
you suffer physical problems with no clear physical cause

Counselling does not necessarily aim for long term psychic development although development can certainly occur through counselling. It is more concerned with providing a space to think about and reflect upon certain problems or difficulties that someone is experiencing.

It can be greatly beneficial to have a space where you can bring what is upsetting or troubling you and for it to be thought about together in a non-judgemental way.

I offer sessions from a straw bale roundhouse in my garden in Pitchcombe.

An initial consultation, or a series of consultations can be used to decide whether Psychotherapy or counselling might be appropriate for you at this time.
