How counselling can help. People who come for counseling may have one or more of a wide range of problems. There are times in most peoples lives when they feel worried or depressed, and sometimes feel that they cannot cope anymore, or, just do not know which way to turn. People may feel sad, hurt,or angry or even overwhelmed by things that has happened to them in the past, painful or difficult to deal with and anxiety about the future. Others come for counselling as a way of finding and developing their strengths and resources so they can move on with their lives with new insight and understanding and revised coping strategies.
Counselling can provide an opportunity to share problems with someone who is outside your situation and has the time, skills, and objectivity to listen without getting upset or involved.
I believe the aim of counselling is to bring insight and perspective by helping clients to explore the causes of their difficulties and to offer support through the process of change that follows
I am an accredited BACP Psychotherapist with over nine years experience of counselling and treating clients for a range of complex psychological issues in clinical and private settings. I gained my accreditation with the BACP in July 2013 and I am on the UK register for Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
Apart from the main counselling fields i.e Depression, Anxiety and Stress, (please see below a full list of therapies offered) I have excellent experience working in the Drugs and Alcohol field, Bereavement, and working with young adults. Most recently I have worked in an Occupational Health and Wellbeing company using my CBT therapeutic approach for PTSD together with other therapies in an EAP setting.
As an integrative Counsellor I work in a diverse way. Apart from one to one counselling I also offer telephone and online counselling.
I also hold a Life Coaching Diploma helping clients to build assertiveness and motivation.
Life-coaching: Not only can coaching help you set new goals for yourself, but it can also help you achieve them. Life coaching can help you overcome your obstacles and so begin to lead a happier life.
Please telephone for more information on my fees and appointment availability.
