Profile
Having worked as a Counsellor for a number of years, I really believe in both the changes that Counselling can make to our lives, as well as the potential and ability that we all have within ourselves for growth and change.
Being able to talk openly to someone else in a confidential and accepting setting can be helpful in itself. It can also help to gain understanding, get to the root of your problem and help you make the changes that you wish. I will be genuinely supportive, understanding and accepting of your situation. There are no pressures or expectations, just the time and space you need to get to where you want to be.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I am a fully qualified and BACP Accredited Counsellor. I work as a person-centred Counsellor which means that I believe that you have the answers you are looking for within yourself, but often these can be hard to find. I try and help you find these by being able to explore and understand yourself better through Counselling.
I always aim to offer the best service to each and every client and work hard at keeping my practice at a very high standard.
I am currently working full time in private practice in both Preston and Blackpool. Previously, I had worked as a Counsellor for staff at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, as well as Counselling carers and patients at Rossendale Hospice. I have also worked with young adults and children in my jobs as a school Counsellor at Larches House and Talk Counselling service at Urban Exchange in Preston.
I feel that my varying roles as a Counsellor has given me great learning and experience working with a wide range of issues and ages. I have had experience of working with children, adolescents, adults and the elderly with some of the following issues:
Anger
Depression
Bereavement/Loss
Grief
Anxiety
Panic Attacks
Stress
Work Related Issues
Addictions
Abuse
Relationship Issues
Low Self-esteem
Low Confidence
Self-harm
Bullying
Family Related Issues
General Unhappiness
Personal Development
