Profile
I am a Humanistic BACP Accredited counsellor/psychotherapist, practicing in County Durham and would be happy to hear from you if you require counselling in the Durham area.
I use a number of different counselling techniques learnt over a considerable number of years in the profession including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Narrative Therapy. I am a Licenced Practitioner in Integral Eye Movement and have many years experience in Family Therapy and Child Counselling.
I offer a confidential service in a safe environment and will work with you to understand your concerns and issues.
My objective is to ensure that you are in the right place to take life in the direction you choose.
We can then consider different strategies and plans to discover the right approach for you to work with a counsellor through those issues and let you move on.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I am a wife and Mother and worked for the best part of my career in the Prison Service prior to becoming a full time Counsellor.
Over the years I have gained a wide range of experience in different environments including some of the most challenging in Prisons, Schools and Childcare. My Qualifications include:
* BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist
* NCFE Diploma in Counselling
* NCFE Certificate in Counselling
* Member of British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapist
* Member Counselling Children and Young People Association
* Licenced Practitioner of I.E.M. Therapy
I have also undertaken further training in specific areas of Counselling including:

Importantly, Counselling is not a career for me but rather a vocation in something in which I truly belief I can make a difference to peoples lives.

Fees
The first 50 minute session is available at a reduced fee of £30 to ensure that Counselling is right for you.
Thereafter each 50 minute session costs £40.00 each. This cost is the same for either single adults, couples or children.
Further Information
How many sessions will I need?
That very much depends on your needs and how you feel about issues you may have. For some people only a few sessions are required to provide the focus needed to move on. For others a longer-term relationship is right where continuous support and encouragement is more appropriate. Ultimately it is up to you to decide what is right for you, however it is helpful for us to decide a mutually agreeable close date.
