Profile

Do you need someone to talk to?  Are you feeling that no one understands you? Is life getting you down? Would you like some emotional support? If the answer to any of those questions is yes then why not give me a ring or send me an email to see if I can help you. I live in Fareham near to Titchfield, Locks Heath and Whiteley and with easy access to Junction 9 of M27 if travelling by car. I am also easy to reach if using local buses. I am an experienced counsellor and have been practising for several years and work from a comfortable, private and quiet setting and offer a safe and supportive service. I work from a Person Centred perspective and have also undertaken training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). I work both with adults and young people from age 11 and my aim is try and to help my clients improve their lives and live in a more fulfilling and positive way. I work on either a short term (6 or 8 sessions) or on a longer term basis depending on the needs of my client. This would be regularly reviewed to check out and assess that my clients' needs and expectations are being met.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I describe myself as an integrative counsellor working from a Person Centred model with additional training in CBT. I have a Higher National Diploma in Counselling and have several years experience of counselling both adults and young people over the age of 11 and work in whatever way best suits the needs of my client which would be assessed during the initial assessment.  As well as working in private practice, I have worked for several voluntary organisations including an organisation that works with young people aged from 11 - 25 years, an organisation that offers bereavement counselling and with people who have been affected by cancer either themselves or indirectly. I also work as a telephone counsellor for an Employee Assistant Programme.

Fees

My fees are £35.00 per 50 minute session with reduced fees of £25.00 for students and student counsellors. I also offer an initial 30 minute assessment session free of charge. This is an opportunity for clients to assess whether counselling is appropriate for them and if they are comfortable working with me.

Further Information

I work both short term (6 to 8 sessions) and long term with my clients in a safe, comfortable and confidential space in order to help them lead a more fulfilling and rewarding life whilst supporting them emotionally and helping them reach their full potential.  I work to the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) code of ethics and am a member of BACP.
