Profile

I am an integrative, person-centred counsellor and have been working in private practice for 11 years. I have experience of working with many different issues and believe that in a caring, supportive and confidential environment you and I would be able to explore any difficulties that you may have. I offer respect and understanding and I am not here to judge you.

I also work for Cruse Bereavement as a supervisor and have a lot of experience in loss and bereavement.

I started a move towards counselling in 1993 when I became a volunteer for a Bereavement Care Association where I found that I really enjoyed supporting and listening to people. This led me to enrol at Keighley College in West Yorkshire where I gained the R.S.A. Certificate in Counselling.

I then enrolled at Bradford College for the Diploma in Counselling and Human Relations and after completing this course I was approached by the Keighley Women's Centre to work as a counselling co-ordinator. This I did until I decided to take a few weekend courses to gain a Diploma in Neuro-Linguistic Programming. In 2003 I was awarded a Masters Degree in Counselling in the Community by Bradford University.

I moved to this area in 2008 and am lucky enough to be working privately from home in the beautiful surroundings of Arnside.

My usual fee is £30 per hour and I offer an initial free session so that we can explore together whether counselling is for you.
