About me

Working sensitively I tailor my approach to suit you and what you are experiencing, no matter whether you are seeking counselling for anxiety, anger, depression, trauma, developmental trauma, abuse or relationship issues for example. Respecting you as an individual is, I believe, the best way to enable you to find out more about yourself and to help you live a more fulfilled life.

Depending on what is comfortable for you and because my training is integrative, I use different psychotherapeutic approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS) and a body-based approach, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, as well ascognitive techniques and creative techniques such as drawing, or visualisation.

How counselling works
My approach is step by step. Firstly, it is important for you to find out whether you would like to work with me and if we feel we are a 'good fit'. This is because at the core of healing is relationship. To do this we arrange a free 30 m telephone call to find out more about each other. It also, will provide a chance for me to find out about what you would like to get from the therapy and for you to learn more about what I offer and the way I work. Then if you feel you'd like to continue exploring working with me we arrange a time for an assessment in which I ask a few more questions to gain a deeper understanding of your background and your hopes.  We also discuss a working agreement. The approach may be time-limited, in other words setting a number of sessions or working open-ended.

The weekly sessions are 50 minutes long and are confidential.

I also offer trauma-informed one-to-one supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists.

As part of my commitment as a counsellor and supervisor I adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics. I work supervised which means from time to time I present a case to my supervisor, in confidence. This enables me to gain a clearer perspective and understanding about the process of the counselling taking place.

About me
Currently, I work in private practice in Chalfont St. Giles and am a member of staff in London at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education where I lecture and run workshops on trauma.

I have over 10 years experience as a counsellor/psychotherapist and supervisor. I am very grateful to be able to do this work supporting others. I enjoy expanding and developing my therapeutic skills and knowledge in the service of my profession both as a counsellor and supervisor.

My experience includes working with people experiencing mental health difficulties by helping them to achieve, long-term and sustainable goals on their journey back to work.

I have over five years' experience working in bereavement at the Peace Hospice in Watford and now at the Bereavement Services for Hounslow. Loss is experienced in many ways and infertility, is an area I work with, too.

Also in the past, while working abroad I was involved in setting-up and running an organisation for people who were experiencing emotional stress often to the point they were experiencing suicidal thoughts. Refugees and asylum seekers were amongst the group of people we supported.
