From time to time, we all need a quiet corner. Somewhere we can be heard and, more importantly, to really hear ourselves. I have created a safe, confidential, non judgemental space giving you the opportunity to explore and resolve your current concerns.
You may be experiencing difficulties within your closest relationships. Significant life events (marriage, birth, redundancy, retirement and bereavement) bring added stress impacting on the way you think, both about yourself and others. This can lead to feelings of hurt, disappointment and loss. You may have noticed (or been told) you are behaving differently upsetting the balance of your closest relationships. You could then be left with feelings of confusion and anxiety. Sometimes difficulties can occur for such a long period of time it becomes harder to cope with normal, everydaylife and you become lonely, isolated and depressed.
How might counselling help me? Counselling gives you the opportunity to talk in a way that leads to deeper self awareness and understanding. Enhanced self awareness is at the very foundation of personal insight, growth and change. Our therapeutic relationship will be a partnership - an interactive, two way process. I can offer you a secure, confidential relationship in which your concerns can be addressed in the context of your whole life experience.
As well as working from A Quiet Corner, during the past 14yrs I have been a senior counsellor for the mental health Charity MIND in Hereford & Ross on Wye. As several GP surgeries referred to MIND, I am experienced in working with wide ranging emotional distress. Added to this, I have worked with the long term unemployed at JobCentres in Herefordshire & Gloucestershire thereby bringing me into contact with people from all walks of life.
