Profile
I am an experienced, qualified BACP counsellor offering confidential, empathetic counselling in a safe and relaxed setting. I take a holistic approach to therapy as its a combination of body, mind and spirit that affect the functioning of an individual as a whole.
My aim is to accept you as you are, to understand you, and enter into a therapeutic alliance that is real and genuine, which can help identify past, present patterns and influences, along with core beliefs, and influence the way we manage our relationships and emotional life, both in the work place and socially. In my experience, greater insight and the confidence to experiment with new-found ideas can often bring about a great deal of change.
It is an honour to be part of this process. Every client deserves to be respected for seeking help with problems in their lives, be those problems regarded as large or small and I fully appreciate how nerve-wracking it can be to take that initial step to go for counselling. Shouldn't I be able to sort this out? I dont want to go and bare my soul to some complete stranger, etc etc. In my experience just having made that initial appointment is the point at which things start to improve and a glimmer of hope replaces the previous negative feelings.
Initially we can arrange a session to begin exploring the relevant issues, and for us to find out if counselling is suitable for you. Should we decide to continue, 50-60 minute sessions are normally arranged on a weekly basis. In some cases a one off session might be all that is needed or a more flexible arrangement can sometimes be negotiated.
If you would like to ask any questions before making an appointment feel free to call or e-mail.
