Hello and Welcome,
Are you looking for a safe and confidential environment, where you can come and talk about what is bothering you, without the feeling of burdening someone, or being unable to say how you really feel incase you upset someone? A place where you can feel truly listened to, a place where you will receive non-judgemental, unbiased support? I would encourage you to continue reading, I might be able to offer you just the place.
Deciding you want counselling support can often feel overwhelming. You maybe or may have experienced feelings of depression, anxiety, anger, confusion or you may have suffered a bereavement. Perhaps you are having relationship issues, which have led to feelings of insecurity, confusion, directionless or hopelessness. Maybe you feel as though you have no sense of purpose, perhaps it feels as though "it's all going wrong, or everything feels a bit to much". Although, you do not need a crisis to bring you to counselling, sometimes it is just about having a safe place to talk through thoughts that having been bothering you for some time, for example lack of confidence or low self esteem a place to work on becoming more emotionally healthy.
I understand how difficult it can be to pick up the phone or send an email, asking for support. With this in mind, I will offer you warm welcome and a peaceful, secure and confidential environment. I will work hard to ensure you will feel safe and comfortable to explore your thoughts and feelings.
I am an experienced, BACP Accredited Counsellor and Supervisor. I work within the BACP's ethical framework. I offer Counselling and Supervision to adult individuals, couples, trainee counsellors, young adults, EAP's and the elderly. I offer long or short term focused work, using Person Centred, Gestalt, TA, Pyschosynthesis, and Integrative models.
I will support you in our theraputic relationship and encourage you to explore, challenge and gain more awareness around the issues which are troubling you. I will also help you to look at your past and present behavioural patterns and coping mechanisms, enhancing what works well and tweeking what does not work quite so well.
I have experience working with anxiety, bereavement, relationships, sexual and mental abuse, depression, shame, worthlessness, retirement, loss, self harm, low self esteem, spirituality and many more issues that clients have presented with.
For couples, I offer a safe, neutral space, to talk about the issues that have arisen between you. My role is to facilitate you both, not siding with either, but offering a balanced, unbiased view on your relationship. I can notice patterns and behaviours that may have emerged within your relationship which could be unhelpful and together we can think about how to move your relationship forward. If there has been a relationship breakdown due to an affair, we can work together to think about how you can both move on in your relationship.
For teens I offer a place where you can come and relax and talk about what is bothering you. A place where you will feel safe and not judged. I can sit while you talk to me or we can work more creatively, using a range of items such as pens, stones and shells.
Please feel free to contact me for an initial informal conversation to explore whether I might be the right counsellor for you.
