I am professional counsellor with over 19 years experience, practising in St Albans close to the City station. I hold a Diploma in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Tavistock Clinic and offer both long term and brief therapy to individuals. My work is psychodynamic, meaning that I base my approach on the acceptance that we are all products of our previous life experiences and that these can affect us in ways we may not be aware of. I offer a confidential and reliable relationship which allows you to say whatever is on your mind - in this way we can explore together the feelings and patterns of behaviour which may be troubling you so that an understanding can emerge. This can lead to a greater freedom and sense of wellbeing in your life and better use of your inner resources.

My experience includes working for a counselling agency, employee assistance programmes and in private practice. I am an associate member of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists and a senior accredited member of BACP. I adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
