Michelle Heselden MBACP
My Background & Service
I am a fully qualified Counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) since 2007. My background training is in the Humanistic models using an Integrative approach, I provide a professional service for clients in a friendly confidential environment within a quiet residential area. I work one to one with adult clients developing a trusting therapeutic relationship, this can then provide a secure base from which to explore issues and difficulties. My role as a counsellor is to help you discuss thoughts and feelings that may not have been spoken about before, this can sometimes be upsetting but it can also bring a sense of relief and understanding which can provide a way of moving forward.
Some of my Experience
During my training I was based in a GP surgery providing time limited therapy. After qualifying, I went into bereavement counselling and became a bereavement support volunteer for St. Christopher's hospice in London for two years. I also have experience working with children as a voluntary Counsellor with the organisation 'The place2Be' which involves working therapeutically with children in schools, later going on to Counselling as a Sessional School Counsellor for Gateway Connect in Primary Schools across Thurrock. I have worked in private practice providing long or short term counselling for adults.
