About me

Are you looking for help, for someone to talk to, who will listen, and help you find a way forward?

As a therapist my aim is to:

Explore with you your concerns
Talk about your thoughts and feelings
Help you towards living a more fulfilling life
Provide a confidential and supportive environment

Whether your difficulties are to do with relationship issues, anxiety or depression, loss or bereavement, loneliness, anger management or lack of meaning in life, I believe that together we can make a real difference.

I am experienced in providing brief and longer-term counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and couples. My consulting room in Cirencester, within easy reach of Swindon, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bath, Bristol and Oxford.

An initial meeting will help you to decide whether sessions may be helpful. I am usually able to offer an initial appointment very promptly. Sessions are held weekly on the same day and at the same time, each lasting fifty minutes. They take place during the day or early evenings Monday to Friday, or on Saturday mornings.

Fees are subject to mutual agreement. I am able to offer low fee sessions in appropriate circumstances.

As a BACP Accredited Supervisor of Individuals and Groups, I also provide clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists and practitioners in other clinical disciplines. If you are a therapist looking for supervision, I would be very pleased to hear from you.

I worked for seven years as a full-time Staff Counsellor within the NHS. During the same period, in my part-time private practice, I saw a wide range of clients, both long-term and short-term, referred by local practitioners, employee assistance providers and by existing clients. Many hours of clinical experience as a therapist working within the NHS, and in private practice with employee assistance programmes, has given me in-depth understanding of work-place pressures.

Further information

Working with the constraints of what is necessarily short-term therapy within the NHS I devised a way of working that was psychodynamically based but also made use of techniques from other psychotherapeutic modalities.

My way of working enables you to approach your difficulties on a number of levels developmental, intergenerational, emotional, cognitive and behavioural. Feedback I receive from clients' written evaluations confirm that positive life changes have taken place.

My interest in short-term therapy led to my Masters Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy. My research study was on facilitating change in brief psychotherapy.

My consulting room is a quiet, private room at my home with free parking and disabled access. The local bus stop is five minutes walk away and the centre of Cirencester is 20 minutes walk away.
