Profile
I am a BACP accredited psychotherapist and counsellor, working in private practice. I offer face-to-face as well as telephone and on-line (Skype) counselling, Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 8 pm (last appointment). Evening appointments are very popular and there may be a short waiting list. I offer some concessions. Please contact me for details.
I have been asked for some time now to provide more flexible access that fits in with people's work and family schedules. Therefore, my 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Monday-Friday) appointments availability at my workplace include telephone and on-line counselling appointments, using Skype video where possible. You can find all the details on my website but if you have questions re fees, internet use and protection and other matters, please email me.
Sometimes life can seem too difficult to understand let alone navigate through!
Maybe your relationship(s) are not going well, perhaps you feel a discontent somewhere deep inside yet can't quite understand it or you may have past experiences that are still troubling you.
To get in touch with a counsellor is talking to someone who is outside your family and friends circle. A counsellor is there just for you and will not only listen but help you find ways to make a difference to your life. This will help you to sort out what caused your problem and provide you with a more balanced, more content and confident outlook on life.
What can we expect from counselling?
Counselling is a two-way process, a working together to bring about change, where counsellor and client each have a role to play. I like to compare it to two people travelling together, where one drives the car and the other reads the map. You are the driver and you decide if you will listen to the map reader and follow the suggested route never mind the obstacles! You may want to make changes, drive fast or slow, reflect, pause or stop. The Counsellor will support you, challenge and encourage you and help you develop skills that will enable you to drive by yourself, confident that you can manage the driving by yourself.
I have a Diploma in CBT counselling, an approach much favoured by the NHS.
I am a BUPA recognised provider of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I have been accredited by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) since 2005.
Counsellors who are looking for supervision, please note that I have a Diploma in Clinical Supervision and supervise trainees, newly qualified and experienced counsellors. School counsellors are particularly welcome. Details of fees are on my website.
All bookings can be made by phone, email or on my website after consulting me first on availability .
