Profile
I offer therapy to individuals and couples. The therapy sessions include written work from me and diagrams of ways you have of managing your emotional difficulties. The therapy is managed so that, not only are you able to describe difficulties, but that you learn to recognise how these feelings and beliefs about yourself are triggered, leading to behaviours that are unwanted by you. The service is 'time limited' according to what you want and this way of working helps keep the therapy focused on what you want to achieve as an outcome.
I work with children and families who have attended CAMHS in the past. I also work with those who are divorcing or divorced and where there is bitterness that is handicapping all family members.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I trained at Guys Hospital as a Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapist (CAT) and I have had 14 years clinical experience, working within the NHS. My clinical positions were at Guys Hospital, The Warneford Hospital in Oxford, Winterbourne House in Reading,the Complex Needs Centre in Aylesbury and Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot. l I have a degree in Mental Health Studies and worked within the psychiatric field. I have a Dip. in Humanistic Counselling and spent 3 years as a counsellor for alcohol addiction.
I am also trained in EMDR, approved by NICE as an intervention for trauma. (PTSD)
I was a midwife, Health Visitor, and General Nurse. I provide supervision for NHS staff and facilitate groups for mothers suffering with post-natal depression. I am a member of ACAT and the UKCP. I have a particular interest in personality disorder. My training has provided me with the tools to address suffering.

Fees
I charge £50 per hour and offer a sliding scale for those who might be unemployed or students.
All work is enhanced by written work provided by me.
Further Information
I work quickly with the problems that people present with. I keep the work brief and together we decide the duration of the intervention. I give written letters and 'mapping' of troubled ways of relating. This keeps the work focused and addressed 'target' problems and desired outcomes for those willing to work in this way.
