'and the day comes when the choice to remain tight in the bud becomes more painful than the choice to blossom.'
Eve is an experienced psychotherapist, counsellor, trainer and supervisor.
She works with all age groups from 16- 80+.
Eve's approach to to counselling and psychotherapy varies according to the individual but tends to be interactive and dynamic including a 'here and now' Gestalt approach. She facilitates the client to look at their internal struggles and conflicts which may be mirrored in the way they live their life and the difficulties they experience. So often Eve encounters the client bound up with outworn patterns of being. The act of dismantling these inner motivations which may not serve our health and well being, involves a patient but rewarding experience abit like sorting out 'the wheat from the chaff.'
Eve offers short term counselling to help people to get over crises such as divorce, bereavement or stress-related problems as well as longer term psychotherapy described above. There maybe an overlap between the two.
Eve enjoys working with dreams, the body and imagery.
As her original training was with Relate: she will see couples as well as individuals. She also offers private supervision to counsellors, therapists and anyone working in the helping professions.
Eve also offers a mentoring service for people who are setting up and working with groups of all kinds and would benefit from her experience and wisdom. This mentoring service could be relevant to women of different life stages who rather than have therapy would like support going through challenging thresholds that life presents eg menopause, illness, pregnancy, motherhood...
Training, qualifications & experience
In 1990 after training with Relate as a counsellor, she began her Psychotherapy training with BCPC (Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling) and completed it with ReVision, Centre for Integrative Psychosynthesis, London in 1995. Eve has co-facilitated a Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling at Wiltshire College as well as training counsellors in Cheltenham and The Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. She has been a visiting trainer at ReVision in London.
Eve has been involved in Jungian oriented therapy which combines working with dreams, the body and creativity. For many years she ran groups related to this work.
She also has undertaken Mindfulness training and incorporates this approach in her work.
