Profile

I am a successful, integrative therapist based in Great Baddow, which is a short drive from Chelmsford town centre and served by local transport. I have 15 years experience in mainstream and special needs education and I am highly experienced in providing support to young people suffering emotional and behavioural difficulties. I have run my own counselling practice since 2004. In addition to this I am teaching budding therapists for the College of Therapeutic Studies.

My specialist areas include working with young people from 12 - 18, who may be experiencing issues around their education, self-harming, may seem depressed and might need a confidence boost. Occasionally, I organise and run small, therapeutic groups for young people who are existing clients that I feel would benefit from this kind of therapy.

I feel I have particular expertise and experience with the over 18s, especially within couples counselling / relationship issies, anxiety issues, anger management and confidence building. I have successfully worked with addictive habits and behaviours (such as smoking, gambling and drinking), decreasing stress, anger, anxiety, fears, phobia and nerves, enabling clients to move on before, during or after difficult times such as a bereavement, divorce or house/job move.

I excel in creating a safe space for clients to explore their past and present issues whilst increasing feelings of being more in control, inner calm, confidence, health, relaxation, inner peace communication skills and being who you want to be. I believe very strongly in the power of the individual and will work with you to find your own empowerment.

Further Information

I am a passionate animal lover and firmly believe in the healing power of animals. One of my rescue dogs (Duke) is a registered Pets as Therapy (PAT) dog. His work usually involves helping hospital patients to recover but he is available for individual sessions (at no extra cost) and is a big hit with my younger clients. If you would like to meet Duke, please ask to have him join us in our sessions.

All sessions take place in a dedicated therapy room in my home.

I offer new clients a free 20 minute introductory session to find out if you feel I am the the therapist for you.
