Profile

I am an experienced counsellor with a successful track record of understanding and helping my clients with a wide range of issues. For some, our sessions have been life changing. Please visit my website and read my testimonial page.

I provide a warm, safe, non-judgemental and empathic environment in which I use a broad spectrum of skills including C.B.T.(Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), Psychoanalysis, R.E.B.T.(Rational and Emotional Behaviour Therapy), T.A.(Transactional Analysis) and Person-Centred Counselling. Being able to incorporate a range of skills can help to reduce therapy time and improves the chances of a successful outcome.

I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society.

My appointment hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday - Saturday. Easy parking.

Please call to make an apointment or for more information please visit my website
(you can click on the link at the top of this page).

As well as practicing privately, I dedicate one day a week to work in an established counselling agency with other counsellors and psychotherapists. This weekly interaction with like-minded practitioners coupled with my own commitment to continuing professional development helps me keep abreast of current thinking and research. Keeping up to date ensures that my clients always benefit from new ideas and techniques where appropriate.

Further Information

The first session is approximately 1 hour and will give you the opportunity to share your concerns with me, ask questions and discuss what you are hoping to achieve through counselling. Subsequent appointments for individuals will last for 50 minutes and for couples will last an hour.

Once we have agreed that I may be able to help, we will decide how many sessions might be required. As a guide I find that clients usually attend 10 to 12 sessions, although some may require more and some less. We will schedule those appointments at mutually agreeable times and review this as we go.

In the initial meeting we will also discuss and agree practical arrangements, times, fees, goals and boundaries of confidentiality.

If we should decide that my own skills are not best suited to your needs I will try to help you make contact with someone better able to assist you.

As a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society (MNCS) I am bound by their Ethical Frameworks for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
